Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison, Maureen Tucker and Doug Yule (who’d replaced John Cale a full year previously) had developed into a sensationally tight and adventurous quartet, and this show – the second of two recorded on consecutive nights before a tiny audience in Dallas, Texas – is unquestionably one of the finest surviving documents of the legendary group in performance. Includes incendiary live takes on such beloved VU classics as “Sister Ray,” “I’m Waiting for the Man,” “Pale Blue Eyes,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Femme Fatale,” “What Goes On” and “Heroin.” Remastered sound and background notes included on printed insert.
