Henry Mancini Hatari!: Music From The Paramount Motion Picture Score on Limited Edition 200g LP from Analogue Productions
Mastered from the Analog Tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound / Plated & Pressed at Quality Record Pressings
Composer extraordinaire Henri Mancini followed up his double Oscar win for his brilliant work on Breakfast at Tiffany’s with the equally as compelling score to the Howard Hawks/John Wayne action-adventure film Hatari! in 1962. Home to the unforgettably exuberant “Baby Elephant Walk” which earned Mancini yet another Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement plus “Theme from Hatari!” and “Your Father’s Feathers.”
Now the celebrated score has been given the deluxe Analogue Productions treatment: remastered from the original analog tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound, cut at 33 1/3 RPM, plated and pressed as a 200-gram LP at Quality Record Pressings, and packaged in deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket courtesy of Stoughton Printing.
Henry Mancini composed music that’s woven into the fabric of American pop culture: “The Pink Panther Theme,” the “Peter Gunn” bass line, “Moon River” (from Breakfast at Tiffany’s), “Days of Wine and Roses” and more. Mancini holds the record for most Grammy nominations (72), out of which he won 20. In addition to his four Academy Awards, he won a Golden Globe, secured two Emmy nominations and was honored in 2004 with a United States Commemorative Postal Stamp.
